Line A
No laces. Step in, step out.
A soft last with no rigid heel seat, cut so the throat holds the foot without a fastening. Padding runs from 8 to 14 mm under the forefoot across the line.
Line B
The thinnest sole we make.
Between 5 and 10 mm under the forefoot and flex angles from 36 to 45 degrees. This is the line that folds most easily with the foot and puts the least material underneath it.
Line C
Held across the instep by a buckle.
A strap over the instep keeps the foot from sliding forward, which is why this line carries slightly thicker heel padding than the ballet flats at the same height.
Line D
Laces, on a soft last.
Open lacing over a soft-stitched sole. The lace lets you set the volume over the instep yourself, which matters more than any other adjustment on a flat shoe.
Line E
Heels of 25, 35 and 45 mm.
Three heel heights on a wide block, each stated in millimetres. Raising the heel shortens the forefoot flex angle; both numbers are printed on every product page.
Line F
Add millimetres, or buy the whole set.
Replaceable insoles stated by thickness and material only, plus three multi-pair sets. Insoles here change how many millimetres sit under your foot; nothing more is claimed for them.
